Little Creek Park

Little Creek Park is located at 305 N. Kaufman Street. 

Mr. & Mrs. N. E. Dupree donated approximately 4.2 acres of
 land to the City of Mount Vernon in July, 1958, for the love
 and respect they had for the young people of the town
 and surrounding communities.

The park consist of tennis courts, basketball courts, 
2 playground areas, baseball field, a covered pavillion 
and a walking trail.



Pavillion
Fees for the use of the pavillion are:

        $25.00 Deposit that may be refunded after inspection of property
        $10.00 Electric (non refundable)
        $10.00 Water (non refundable)

West End Nature Preserve

Located just south of Interstate 30, West End Nature Preserve is situated on the west side of Lake Cypress Springs. Pristine and primitive, the Preserve is comprised of 455 acres with a 1.2 mile marked nature trail that meanders into deep forest. Its entry is on the west side of Highway 37, 10 miles south of the City of Mount Vernon just north of the main bridge over Cypress Creek.
